Thank you to the Naugatuck Historical Society for a great first public discussion and book signing for From the Old Sod to the Naugatuck Valley: Early Irish Catholics in New Haven County, Connecticut! We had a full house of interested and interesting people, and many purchased the book—some in multiple copies. After four days in Connecticut it is time to order more!
– Jane Lyons also speaking at the book signing
That Jane Lyons came to America for this made it an even more special occasion. We had an interview at the Waterbury Republican-American newspaper and had an excellent time with my husband, our friends and family, introducing our extended home town to Jane, with enough quiet time to also feel on vacation. Our intrepid traveler continues her American adventure in Boston currently, then will wend her way to D.C., Virginia and Baltimore next week.

This is so exciting to see the results of your dreams, planning and sheer hard work. So great to see it all come together.
Sorry I missed a special night. When is the article in the Wtby Republican being published? Maybe we can get you to appear at the Waterbury library, so I can see your presentation…
Looking forward to reading book.
John, sorry too that you needed to be out of town. I’ve heard that they want me to come to the Silas Bronson and am happy to, so will see what we can set up. Wendy at NHS has a copy saved for you. Will look forward to your response! (Don’t know when the article will appear. Hope one of you will tell me.)
Chris, Thank you, and for all your encouragement!
I have nominated you for an Illuminating Bloggers Award… you can read the details at As They Were http://astheywere.blogspot.com.au/

Chris, I am so appreciative of this, and perhaps slow on the uptake! Thank you so much. I will reply with an appropriate post!
Well done Janet, I’m very pleased for you and Paul. The fruits of all your hard work. Best wishes, Pat & Mary.
Pat and Mary, So good to hear from you! Thank you. Have spoken about you to Jane, who knows about Ballycolla. She will look you up when she gets back. Still have to learn how to get books to folks internationally. The postage is very high. Wishing you both well!
